Sitting on a Concrete BanasterThe wind blows through the swaying trees numbing any exposed flesh. The trees, long since devoid of any foliage that might shield the birds as they sing, are bare and brown and sad as the gusts push them in every which direction. The leaves dance along the concrete pathway and sing of scratches and scars gained since falling from their homes. The smell of grass is heavy on the wind blowing to and fro in the breeze. The many stiff and sharp blades dance as thousands of emerald, diamond, and topaz swords on a field of battle. Bushes still thick with spines barely budge with the wind.
